I didn't know the containers weren't self-sealing when I bought my first one. Luckily, I ordered the silicone cover right away... It works as it should.
The cover is a great idea keeps the humidity out so there are not any clumps.

Silicone Cover for Stainless Steel Shaker
We have not used the shaker yet but did place the silicone cover over it. Easy to put and appears to be durable to last for many times of taking it off & on. We believe we are going to enjoy the spice and shaker. If so, we will be back to purchase more.
Not what I expected
I loved it. it works as it should. I was expecting something thicker. I was afraid it would be difficult to remove or place on the tins. I have arthritis in my hands. This works better than expected.
