Brown ground beef with peppers and garlic, pile it hot on naan, top with cheese, and char it in a 400-degree oven
Ingredients
For the Beef
- 1 Pound lean ground beef
- 1 Teaspoon cooking oil
- 1/2 Yellow onion, chopped
- 1/2 Red bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 Green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 Tablespoon garlic, minced
- 2 Tablespoons Casa M Spice Co® Uncontrolled Cattle Drive®
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt (or to taste)
For the Pizzas
- Naan bread, personal size
- 1 8 Ounce bag mozzarella cheese
- 1 8 Ounce can tomato sauce
- 2 Teaspoons Casa M Spice Co® Uncontrolled Chain Reaction®
- Small can sliced black olives
Method
-
01
Sauté the peppers and onions
5 minHeat oil in a skillet over medium heat and add your chopped onions and peppers. You're building a softer, sweeter base layer — give them time to release their flavor and start to caramelize.
-
02
Add garlic
1 minStir in your minced garlic and let it bloom for about a minute. Fresh garlic in hot oil is where the magic starts — don't let it burn or it'll turn bitter.
-
03
Brown the beef
5 minAdd ground beef to the pan and break it up as it cooks, mixing everything together. You want no pink left — fully cooked beef keeps your pizzas from being soupy.
-
04
Season with Uncontrolled Cattle Drive®
1 minMix in 2 tablespoons of Casa M Spice Co® Uncontrolled Cattle Drive® and stir it through the beef so every bite gets spiced. This is where the heat and flavor come alive.
-
05
Taste and adjust salt
1 minOnce the beef is fully cooked through, add salt to taste and give it a sample. You're the boss here — add more if your palate calls for it.
-
06
Preheat oven to 400°F
10 minGet your oven heating while you prep the rest. A proper 400-degree heat will char and blister those naan edges like they're meant to be.
-
07
Prep the tomato sauce
2 minCombine tomato sauce with Uncontrolled Chain Reaction® and mix it well. This gives your pizza a bright, spicy foundation that won't get lost under the cheese and beef.
-
08
Assemble the pizzas
5 minLay out your naan bread and spread a spoonful of the tomato sauce across each one. Start with a light hand — naan is delicate, and you want structural integrity.
-
09
Layer cheese, beef, and toppings
3 minSprinkle mozzarella first, then add your cooked beef mixture, then top with more mozzarella and olives as desired. Cheese on the bottom and top keeps everything bound together and creates a crust.
-
10
Set up for crisping
1 minPlace your assembled pizzas on a nonstick cooling rack set over a baking sheet. The rack lets air circulate underneath for a crispy bottom while the sheet catches any cheese drip.
-
11
Bake until charred
14 minBake for 12 to 15 minutes until the tops are browned and the edges start to blister. You're looking for that contrast between charred crust and melted cheese — that's when you know it's done.
-
12
Finish with Uncontrolled Chain Reaction®
1 minSprinkle a pinch more Uncontrolled Chain Reaction® on top for a final bright pop of flavor and heat. It's your last chance to dial in the spice level exactly how you like it.
From Mike's Notebook
Let the beef sit in the pan 2-3 minutes before stirring; browning happens in stillness, not constant movement.
Drain excess fat from the beef before piling onto naan, or the bread gets soggy instead of crispy.
Cheese melts faster than naan edges brown, so add it in the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
